Somerset Gas Transmission Company, LLC is a privately-held enterprise engaged in the development and operation of natural gas pipelines serving wholesale markets in the US . Somerset 's primary operating asset is its wholly owned affiliate, North Coast Gas Transmission. North Coast is an Ohio intrastate pipeline traversing northern Ohio and operated under the authority of the Public Utility Commission of Ohio. Somerset Gas operates low pressure pipeline systems in western Pennsylvania that gather production from local production and transport this production into a nearby interstate pipeline. Somerset is working with markets, producers, and local distribution companies to develop new infrastructure to serve the growing demand for natural gas. |
| Somerset 's business strategy is to utilize, to the extent possible, existing pipeline corridors to develop new pipelines to serve growing markets in the Northeast. This approach helps reduce the cost of the projects and most importantly, generally has the least amount of impact on the environment and landowners.
